Amazon announced the launch of Amazon Local Register, its mobile credit card processing service taking on PayPalHere and Square. Amazon set its processing fees at 1.75% until Jan 1, 2016 when the fee rises to 2.5%. This compares with Square at 2.75.
To use the service download the app to your mobile device and purchase the reader from Amazon for $10.00. The $10.00 will be offset by the first $10.00 processed through Amazon.
